Roots more than 100 years back
K.W. Bruun & Co is a family-owned company with roots dating back more than 100 years, when founder Karl Wilhelm (K.W.) Bruun traded his very first cars in 1914.

However, his lifelong passion for cars started as early as 1907, when K.W. Bruun sat in the back seat of his father's brand new Oldsmobile with a tiller. In 1925, K.W. Bruun became an importer for Fiat, and in 1930 he founded British Motors, importing Hillmann, Humber, Sunbeam.

During the war
When Denmark was occupied in 1940, K.W. Bruun hid 150 cars in barns and friends' houses and turned the car dealership in Østerbro into an art gallery. By focusing on art, peat, shoe soles, and 'hidden cars', K.W. Bruun made it through the war. Bruun came through the war well - even with a profit and without having to lay off any employees, the latter of which was very important to him.

In 1952, British Motors changed its name to Interdan, the same year it also became the importer of Peugeot.

A skilled businessman
K.W. Bruun was a skilled and resourceful merchant who was not far from thought to action. This business acumen is still one of the cornerstones of K.W. Bruun & Co's way of running an efficient business.

K.W. Bruun & Co has since the beginning been involved in importing cars and spare parts to Denmark and has today grown to be one of the largest private players in the Nordic region within our industry with a turnover of over DKK 9 billion.

Classic Car House - a gathering place for everyone
The Bruun family has been interested in and had a passion for cars since the days when cars were not owned by everyone and up through the 1950s, when more people could afford to buy a car.

Quality cars at reasonable prices that appeal to the general public have been K.W. Bruun Group's core business for many years. Bruun Group's core business for many years, and it is this background that has formed the foundation for the desire to create a Classic Car House.

K.W. Bruun & Co has imported cars for several generations of Danes and wants to contribute to the preservation of a piece of shared cultural history.

The connection to Kgs. Lyngby

The Bruun family has roots in Kgs. Lyngby, where the couple built Egebakken on Caroline Amalievej in 1937 and lived there for many years until they passed away. The construction of Classic Car House in Kgs. Lyngby is a source of great pride for the family, both personally and professionally.

K.W. Bruun & Co is today owned by two family foundations, K.W. Bruun & Hustrus Familiefond and Ragnhild Bruuns Fond, and is managed by Maria Bruun-Lander, who is vice-chairman of the group board and 4th generation after K.W. Bruun, and Anders Bruun, who is chairman of the board and 3rd generation after the founder. Bruun, and Anders Bruun, who is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company and 3rd generation after the founder.

K.W. Bruun Group currently handles the import of cars and spare parts from the manufacturers Peugeot, Citroen, Opel, DS and Mitsubishi in Denmark and Sweden. In recent years, the Group has expanded its activities in both car-related areas and in the real estate and investment area.
